Put your content in the fridge

Put your content in the fridge! (+ more tips for better copywriting.)

Marketing & writing are basically inseparable friends. You can’t get your mission out without good copy and the words you choose really matter.

So here’s 3️⃣ copy tips to make you a better marketer!

1️⃣ Put your content in the fridge.

There are some foods that just taste better the next day. (hello Thanksgiving leftovers.) Some dishes produce more flavor when given time to just sit & hang in your fridge & the SAME is with your copy. Don’t write & publish same-day.

Write, & then put it away for a day or two. When you reread it, you’ll suddenly see tweaks & fixes to make your copy so much better.

2️⃣ White space is your friend.

Write to be skimmed. I love long captions but they’re only worth writing if someone is going to read them. When our mind sees a big block of text we think “this is going to take effort.”

When you break up your text with plenty of white space it’s less intimidating, plus even if someone doesn’t read every word they can skim and get the gist of it!

3️⃣ Write for a third-grader.

We love our big words and showing off our expertise, but the best thing you can do skip the jargon out & use simple language. You’ll help your audience’s tired brains spend less time processing and more time understanding and connecting.

So save this post & then go write something! ✌🏻
